Accessibility Statement

Xperistar is committed to a platform every visitor and every resident can use. The Northeast Tennessee platform is built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the technical standard adopted by the Department of Justice under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act for state and local government web content.

What that means in practice

• Full keyboard navigation with visible focus indicators and a skip-to-content link
• Text contrast meeting or exceeding the 4.5:1 AA threshold
• Semantic landmarks, headings, and labels for assistive technology
• Data visualizations carry text alternatives
• Reduced-motion preferences respected

For member governments

DOJ's Title II web rule holds public entities responsible for vendor-managed content. Xperistar contracts warrant WCAG 2.1 AA conformance for all platform-hosted content, with periodic audits and a published remediation policy, so member counties inherit compliance rather than absorbing another obligation.
